And like to find out how the customer feedback on this.
i hear the wonderful thing about ixwebhosting.
I just need a reliable hosting company with good uptime.
why you like ix hosting?

IXWEBHOSTING.COM had been hacked on Saturday September 29 2007. Since this date we are waiting for they make backups of our websites. Ha. don't get me started. If you want details... including that I have repeatedly asked for cancellation and refund with no response, just email me. It's been 2 days and they won't even reply except to say it's been passed on to the people who handle it.
This has been a nightmare for a LONG time. The worst being the hundreds of spams I get.... email problems....... you name it.

if your website(s) were hacked... its better make sure you check these:
you are using the latest website scripts. Commonly hacker will uses textbox or search box in your script to insert SQL scripts to your website, and thus change your site content.
Secure your control panel scripts. make sure it use combination of char and numbers.
Secure your mysql database login information. IX hosting is using general database, and 'nasty' user can uses scripts for melicious purpose.
Secure your FTP login information as well.
Once you changed your password, you should reupload your files. make sure there is no unidentified scripts in your hosting account. Hacker might plant scripts.
Basically, once you secured your hosting account, its 0.0000000001% possibility to get hacked.

Take my advice and run don't walk away from this host company. They have the worst support that I have ever encountered. I have to contact them every single day because the server that they have some of my sites on that use ASP will not load pages. I've been with them for 2 years now and have begun moving my accounts to hosting. Can't wait until I have all my sites moved from here.

She is right. My 3 sites were down more than 24 hours on monday.Since that I had live chats and I created tickets. Problem I have is very simple.
I am using ixwebhosing Website studio and since Monday it s not fully loaded. It seems to be problem with directories.
Now is Friday - evening /here in Australia/.
I am with ixwebhosting for 3 years now. Also my children and some of my friends. But I am not going to recommend it to anybody anymore.
In 3 years I posted to support only 9 tickets.
But now I had to wait for day and a half for the answers which were completely useless.
My sites are 2 weeks back in time,and I am not able to update them.
PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT MY LATEST CONVERSATION WITH IXWEHOSTING SUPPORT. That conversation took nearly one hour and I was really stressed.

Hi Mushka,
first of all thanks for the details. "BUILDER TEMPLATES" .. site studio.. or other web builder software is third party tool/software. Which is integrated into h-sphere control panel. .. and due to this, support team definately not have the source code to these, and can't provide support into this field as well.
*personally, i dislike sitebuilder tool as well. If you search online, probably there are thousand of complaint about the tool. And there are more and more bugs/error discover time to time.
The best option is to use WYSIWYG website editor. it can be frontpage, dreamweaver, coffeecup software, etc. Thus release yourself from the sitebuilder nightmare once and for all. Give it a try!

I talked to several people in your ixwebhosting, and they told me to wait. I lost one full week by now.
It is very good to know what is really happening. At least I can arrange something. But I completely lost my trust to ixwebhosting capabilities.

ixwebhosting is winning in term of hosting features and price, and its with free dedicated IP addresses which you cant find at hostgator hosting at this price.

I have joined this forum just to post here.
I have been with IX for 2 years and have even taken thier web building deal which I have spent over £1000 on to date. I am very happy with the features they provide and the controls are quite easy.
BUT
The support is the worst I have ever seen. Let me give you my biggest gripe. In september I found that all of my pages on all of my sites had some script inserted into them. I contacted support who blamed some weak password or app I had put on. I have been in IT for more than 15 years so my passwords are always strong and I had not installed any apps. Yet they still did not help me. I have to work hard to download all the files, modify them and re-up them.
Yesterday I find that its happened again.... I googled ixwebhosting hacked and found SO many sites all saying the same thing. So I am really angry that first this has been happening for months and they wont even admit it and second I have spent so much money and now I have to look elsewhere as I can not run my business on servers that can so easily be hacked.

hi Danny,
on the end of year 2008, remmember there was once a major server intivirus hacked... which had caused many server & website effected by those inserted codes and links. this not only effect ix web hosting.
* ixwebhosting had quickly recover from that insident.
always keep your website/account password secure, and perform regular site backup.

As I said, this has now happened twice over 2008 and if you look at the links I have posted, you will see that this has been going on for quite some time at IX. I have also done some research yesterday with 4 other hosting companies and none of them have reported such hacks. I also researched thier own forums and also left posts asking thier users if any of them have had hacks or issues and all 4 of them have had customers reply saying no. I can provide those hosting company details if anyone wants them. I wont post them here as it seems I am trying to take away business, which i am not. As I have said, if you want a cheap non secure host then IX is fine but not for any business.
As for keeping passwords secure. I understand that but as I have a portal for my customers 1: they set thier own passwords, 2:the site has to hold company information which could be sensative.
Backups are all well and good but if you dont fix the issue then it could get hacked every day.
Its not just me. Google IX webhosting hacked and you will see many many posts.
It looks like I am leaving. I would rather pay a few pounds more for security.
Shame I really liked them

For almost 10 months!! IX Web Hosting has been under attack, both the older servers running Php4 and the NEW servers running Php5 are being both injected and .htaccess hacked.
IX can hide and tell paying customers LIES and blame innocent customers that they are to blame.
So Far more than ONE THIRD of all IX hosted sites are infected and injected on a weekly basis.

I've very new to IX so I guess I should wait before drawing any conclusions.
One thing I can say it is a very good deal for the price. Although we should not suffer on quality of support. Look on the web and you will find forums filled with complaints about all the major web hosting companies.

I was asking customer support on a javascript problem of mine.
The problem was: I cannot import javascript files in my webpage.
ex. <script language="javascript" src="scripts/sample.js"></script>
The sample.js file was not loaded by my web page.
I asked customer support for a solution, and they told me:
1. You have a problem with my code in the file `sample.js`
I was thinking -> "The content of `sample.js` is a single and simple javascript function and I don't personally see anything wrong with my code..."
2. Ixwebhosting does not allow importation of .js files... the javascript code should be included in the web page.
I was thinking -> "When I read the message from customer support, I was surprised that I can't import js files."
Can anyone enlighten me with this problem? I still don't know what to do. Right now I'm putting all my javascript code in my web page.

Is there any way for me to contact some higher official in IXWebhosting? I want to complaint about there support. All my sites were down for hours, so I tried to contact support and bugged them to fix it right away, so the annoyed support person went to my site feedback form and entered the following message

I am sure this message is posted by the support person, because
1. My name is not there in my site who.is (private register)
2. The email id he mentioned in the feedback is my ixwebhosting email id which I never used for any other purpose
3. Also this is the first message I got as soon as site is up (actually I came to know the site is up after I saw that message and also that time my ticket was not updated)
I updated the support ticket with this message but no use. I want some higher official from IXWebhosting to take action against the support person.
If anybody from IXWebhosting need more information about this please PM me. I can show you the proof.

only your account's email require. you can proceed with this channel.
else, you can login your ixwebhosting control panel, on the left there is a link to email ticket. fill in the form and require information for support to assist

expert plan is fine for joomla hosting. all you need is database and php. expert plan is with 50 mysql database in it.

No i am not happy its my 3rd month i think and ix hosting is very very slow... and ixwebhsoting support is just zero.. the supporter have no knowledge about any think.. if you asked about any thing they said just hold on and does not reply back even you wait 10 days...
so i dont suggest to any one
in one line i have a horrible experiance with ixwebhosting..
i remembered last year when my webs was active on some other hosting.. i got daily more than 1000 unique visitors.. but due to their havy price $5 per month i move here $3.99 but i lost my all visitors because my website at ix is down almost full day (open for few mint) very poor server.
one thing more if you chat with ix supporter as a visitor they show that they are very helpfull. but when ever you show that you are ix cuxtomer you got nothing.. 0 result
i just waste my $95 at ix webhosting its around 8000 Pakistani ruppe and you can immagine how i arange this money (i am jsut 18 a student)

Wasted the entire day today trying to deploy a RoR application of mine... found out that it doesn't allow SSH access... well then how the hell do you deploy RoR apps without Capistrano... and SSH access is a must for Capistrano deployments... it's just dumb and utterly stupid to prevent customers from using industry standards... i am so frustrated and just at the point of exploding... :mad: Worst US$100 ever spent... I want my money back...

for ixwebhosting shared hosting ruby on rails.
login h-sphere, go to web options icon, and select your domain/website, scroll down and find the Ruby on rails... enable it.
for shell access and full root admin access to server, you will require ixwebhosting vps hosting package.
shared hosting doesn't access shell access, shared server with shell access is not secured, security issue.

However a couple of issues. I have a forum on one account that they have locked the database on twice. The software techs for Invision have gone in there & said the issue is a 24 meg memory limit that ixwebhosting have placed on it when the recommended limit for php5 is 124. I am getting query backups which is causing problems for the others on the shared server & slowing the forum down to a crawl. So its moving to a VPS as we speak (Not ixwebhosting). I will talk to their sales reps & see if they can apply the unused credit to one of our other accounts.

ixwebhosting vps hosting is suitable for high traffic forum, or big forum website. consider upgrade to it.

ixwebhosting,hostexcellence and WebHost, are very bad company! ( they are subsidiaries of ecommence) --- I will keep on posting my bad experiences on other forums includes webhostingtalk, scam, ripoffreport and skepticality, to warn the old customers to leave them, new customers stop to join them.
Here I warn everybody who are old customers or new customers, ixwebhosting and hostexcellence(ecommerce ) their service is bad, do NOT host your site with them, they will suspend your site suddently, no FTP for you, all your data will be lost, and they will not listen to your explain, please see following for other victims I found, their sites also got suspended for different reason, like the site takes too many space, or being hijacked hacked, etc.
You will loose all your customers and all your business on one night, they are not reliable at all, their phone call are always busy, LIVE Chat is no use, the live chat will say"sorry I can not help, please submit ticket through your account", and for the ticket you will receive simple words like"sorry we can not reactivate your account". All the 3 companies are playing games with you as they do not listen to you at all.
I host my site with them since 2 years ago, but recently my nightmare comes: on Feb 26 2010 I received an email from them saying: Suspension of your hosting product: Suspended as per fraudelent cc number.
I am totaly shocked! I explain with them the credit card is mine, by live chat, by submitting the ticket number 1182795 to explain, and sent details of my card, they just refuse to reactive my account, then I take photo of both front and back of my credit card and sent to them, but each time they only say " sorry we can not reactivate your account", to further prove the card belongs to mine, I can send them statement of my credit card, or even want to pay them by bank wire or western union, but they just say NO!
I have called them, but they are always busy, busy even waiting for 10 minutes, nobody answers the phone except a machine voice.
They told me before they back up my site, so I have not back up my site in my computer, now I lost everything.
What a bad company it is! We are family business, now I lost my business! this drive me crazy!
Old customers better transfer your site to other hosting companies, otherwise you will have the same nightmare as me one day, just think I am a loyal customer of them for years.

Their service are not as they say on their website, I comment them as: Rude, scam, deceive, fraud, fraudelent, ripoff, lie, take advantage.
I will post on all major forum and let everybody know, let more and more victims united,
more and more old and new customers leave them, when hostexcellence d o t c o m and ixwebhosting d o t c o m go bankrupt close down, justice is over there.

if people are not happy being a member to a forum then anybody can transfer to another forum or stop posting ever again.
