will link from not relevant site harm my site ranking

and will it getting cheap links from higher pr site, but non related site..
will this harm my websites ranking or pagerank??

link is a link.better link of course is relevant link..but every link give u some points.only stay away from link farms

Link building is very important because more relevant back links you have more are the chances of your site getting higher rank.So having back links is really a must.But back links needs to be relevant otherwise its no point having numerous irrelevant back links.
